Pages
The majority of your work will be to maintain the content of the pages on your website. Pages can contain text, pictures, and links (to pages, documents, or email addresses).
Page States
There are five page states. This table will help you understand what each state means on the gray side menu.

Ways to Draft, Edit, Delete, and Publish a Page
Here is what you can do with pages:
- Draft New Pages
- Edit Draft Pages
- Edit Published Pages
- Submit Draft or Draft Copy of a Published Page for Review
- Delete a Draft Page

- Undo a Published Page Deletion Request
- Hide a Page from the Navigation
Drafting Pages
To create a new page on cnm.edu, follow these steps:
- Go to the folder where you want to create a new page.
- Select Add new... --> Page from the side menu.
- Add content in the Title, Summary, and Text fields.
Field Description Title Use this field to write a useful title for the page you create.
The title will show on the top of the page and as a link in the left navigation, unless it is set to not display.The title that you create will appear as the title of the page in search engine results. Please create titles that are both concise and specific.
Summary Write a short one-sentence description of the page. This content may be used for search engine results.
The summary will show up below the title of the page.Text Use this field to write and format your main content.
The text will show up below the title and summary and represent the main content of your page. - When you are done click the Save button to save your draft page.
Editing Draft Pages
Your draft page will remain hidden from public view until you've submitted it to be published. This means that you can save changes to your draft and add to it later.
To edit a draft page, follow these steps:
- Select Edit from the side menu to continue editing your draft page.
- When you are done making edits to the page, click the Save button. You can make more edits later.
- If you are ready to publish the page, select State: Draft --> Submit for review from the side menu.
The Web Team (MCO) will receive a notification to review your page before publishing it.
Editing Published Pages
To edit a published page, follow these steps:
- Select State: Published --> Draft changes from the side menu. This will create a draft copy of the page you wish to edit.
- When you are done editing the page, click the Save button.
- If you're ready to publish your drafted changes, select State: Draft --> Submit for review from the side menu.
The Web Team (MCO) will receive a notification to review your page before publishing it.
Submitting a Draft or Draft Copy of a Published Page for Review
To submit a draft or draft copy of a published page for review, select the State: Draft --> Submit for review from the side menu.
After you submit your page for review, the Web Team (MCO) receives an email to review and publish your submission. Someone from the team will review the draft to make sure it aligns with the Web Style Guide before publishing your updates.
Deleting a Draft Page
If you don't want to keep the draft page you created, you can delete it.
To delete a draft page, follow these steps:
- Go to the draft copy of the page. The URL of the draft will usually contain "copy_of_pages" and a Warning message will appear with information about the draft copy.
- Select State: Draft --> Delete this draft from the side menu.
- The system will ask a final time if you want to delete the item, with buttons to delete or cancel. Click Delete. Please note that deleting an item is permanent.
Deleting a Published Page
To delete a published page on the website, go to the page and select State: Draft --> Submit for Deletion from the side menu.
The page will refresh and show the State: Pending Deletion in the side menu.
The Web Team (MCO) will send you an email to confirm the page deletion prior to removing it. Deleted pages cannot be recovered.
Undoing a Published Page Deletion Request
If you accidentally select Submit for Deletion on a page, you can undo this request by selecting State: Pending Deletion --> Undo Submit For Deletion from the side menu.
If you select Undo Submit For Deletion immediately after submitting your original page deletion request the Web Team (MCO) may not contact you.
Hiding a Page from the Navigation
Not all pages are meant to be linked from the left navigation area. To hide a page from displaying as a link on the left navigation, follow these steps:
- Select Draft Changes from the side menu (or Edit if the page has never been published).
- Click on the Settings tab and check the Exclude from navigation box.
- Click the Save button.
- If you're ready to publish the changes you made, select the State: Draft --> Submit for review from the side menu.
The Web Team (MCO) will receive a notification to review your page before publishing it.
