Dr. X. Woodley, aka “Dr. X”, is a part-time instructor in the Sociology Department. She holds a BA in African American Studies, a Masters in Social Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Her theoretical groundings are in Black Womanist Thought and Critical Race Theory. Most of her research and publications focus on gender and race issues in higher education as well as the construction of culturally responsive online teaching environments. In addition to her teaching at CNM, Dr. X is a full-time assistant professor at New Mexico State University, where she teaches Learning Design and Technology in the College of Education. In her spare time, Dr. X enjoys doing volunteer work, community organizing, and spending time with friends.
