Program Details

Teacher Candidates (TCs) will be participating in the coursework as follows.

Fall Semester

  • Program Orientation
  • TCs begin co-teaching with a Lead Teacher on the first day of the spring semester for Albuquerque Public Schools.
  • Attend CNM classes during the school day (Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.), and participate in 5–6 classroom observations and reflections in approved special education classes.

Spring Semester

  • Continue CNM coursework (9 credit hours)
  • TCs assume full responsibility in their own classroom.
  • Attend CNM classes in the evening.

Summer Semester

  • Complete TESOL coursework

Fall Semester

  • Complete Supervised Field Experience (SFE) in their own classroom
