Alternative Licensure Application: Special and Elementary Education Transcript Analysis Form

Alternative Teacher Licensure Program applicants seeking licensure in EITHER Elementary or Special Education (or both) are required to complete this form as part of the online application. Applicants pursuing Secondary Education should instead fill out Secondary Education Transcript Analysis Form.

All applications are also required to complete the Alternative Teacher Licensure Application Form.

INSTRUCTIONS: Refer your transcripts and the Endorsement Areas handout to fill out the fields below. The State of New Mexico licensure requirement for Elementary and Special Education is 30 credits "cross-content"; this must include a minimum of 6 credits in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. The six remaining credits beyond the 24 required in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts may be completed in any of those four areas, or in Foreign Language coursework, Art or Physical Education.

Any coursework noted on this form must have been completed with a final grade of "C" or better and must be supported by official transcripts on file with the CNM Records Office.

For each field below, please list the course number/title, the number of credits, and school. If you are missing a course in a particular area, write "did not take." Example: Math 145 Statistics/3 credits/UNM.

2) Submit all transcripts to the CNM Records Office prior to the deadline. Your application cannot be processed until all transcripts are on file. When CNM receives your transcript, you will receive an email to your CNM email account. If you do not receive this email within 1 week, contact the Records Office.
