Learn More About Going Green at RecycleMania Grand Finale Thursday

For the past two months, CNM has been striving to step up its recycling efforts through a national event called Recyclemania. CNM has focused on everything from the benefits of reusable coffee cups to proper recycling techniques. On Thursday, March 29 from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Main Campus in the Smith Brasher Hall, Room 101, CNM will conclude RecycleMania with several lectures on recycling and sustainability topics.

There will also be a clothing drive where you can donate usable clothes. As a thank you, you’ll receive a free, reusable stainless steel water bottle. Here’s the schedule of speakers:

  • 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.—Waste Management: How to Recycle at CNM
  • 12-12:30 p.m—Sarah Morrison: The Impact of Plastics on Impoverished Communities
  • 12:30- 1 p.m—TABLE SESSION: Students and others will present posters on plastics, food waste, and compost
  • 1-1:30 p.m.— Molly Blumhoefer: Bottled Water vs. Tap Water
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m—Carol Diggelman: Food Waste (everything from composting to efficient food production)
  • 2:30-3 p.m.—Molly Blumhoefer: Bottled Water vs Tap Water and Recycling Practices at CNM
  • 3-3:30 p.m.— Sarah Morrison: The Impact of Plastics on Impoverished Communities
