You’re Invited to Celebrate Earth Day at Informal Picnic April 20
Apr 13, 2016
The Mystique food truck will be on hand to sell food items during the picnic, providing their regular food fare and three additional vegetarian items.
“This will be a very informal gathering to get students together in honor of Earth
Day,” said Molly Blumhoefer, Geography Department faculty member and Sustainability Curriculum Committee Co-Chair. “It will be a fantastic low-key and stress-free way to celebrate and unload before finals.”
Attendees will also be planting herbs in a garden bed on the southwest corner of Max Salazar Hall at 10 a.m. to kick off Earth Day events. The herbs will be donated to CNM’s Culinary Arts Program for its sustainability accreditation needs. The USGBC student organization has already successfully planted a lettuce bed which has been donated to the Culinary Arts Program for its sustainability accreditation needs in a joint-effort “garden to table” pilot project.
