The 25 gold medal winners qualified to travel to the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference this summer in Kansas City. In addition, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals added luster to the award roster. In all, CNM students placed among the top three in 27 categories of competition. Most events tested student knowledge and hands-on skills in career technical fields, including such diverse subjects as Crime Scene Investigation, Culinary Arts, Electronics and Architectural/Engineering Drafting. Others judged performance in leadership and related activities such as Prepared Speech, Job Interview and Related Technical Math.
