Two New Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Training Opportunities Offered to Faculty

Feb 06, 2020

As CNM continues to expand the CPL Program, faculty interested in developing their assessment methods and practices are invited to register for two upcoming CPL training opportunities.

CPL Challenge Exam Development training will prepare faculty to develop challenge exams for their academic department. Participants will learn how challenge exams differ from others and get hands-on practice as they evaluate existing course exams. Faculty may attend either a morning or afternoon session, on Wednesday, March 18. Participants will be compensated for attending.

CPL Faculty Assessor Training for Experiential Learning e-Portfolios will prepare faculty to serve as e-portfolio assessors for the CPL Program. Participants will learn how the academic standards guiding best practice in CPL are applied when assessing student portfolios related to a specific CNM course, with an emphasis on veteran and active military students. This all-day training opportunity will be held on Friday, March 20. It is made available by the May & Stanley Grant, awarded to CNM to expand CPL opportunities and the success of our veteran students. Participants will be compensated for attending and lunch will be provided.

To find out more or to request one or both of these training opportunities, log in to MyCNM, then click the Employee tab, then Talent Management, then Browse for Training, and then CPL Challenge Exam Development and / or CPL Faculty Assessor Training for Experiential Learning e-Portfolios. Supervisor approval will be required in order to complete registration.
