Honor Your Heritage Fun Run Set for Sunday

June 10, 2015 -- The CNM community and general public are invited to participate in the second annual Honor Your Heritage 5K Fun Run and 1 Mile Walk Sunday, June 14, at the CNM Montoya Campus.

“This fun run and walk is designed to promote Native American heritage and other cultures, as well as encourage healthy lifestyles, staying fit and active,” said Teresa Billy, event coordinator. Other members of the Native American Task Team include Dee Bluehorse, who is in charge of volunteers, and Daniel Colon from the Montoya Campus.

There is no charge to participate in the fun run and walk.

Registration is from 7-7:45 a.m. at the Montoya Campus, H Building, 4700 Morris NE. The 5K run will begin at 8 a.m., and the mile walk at 8:15 a.m. The course will weave around the Montoya Campus and nearby El Oso Grande Park.

The first 75 people who cross the finish line will receive a free T-shirt. Mid- and post-race refreshments will be provided.

A mandatory meeting for all volunteers is set for Thursday, June 11 at 4-5 p.m. on Main Campus in the Student Services Center, Room 205. For more information, email or call (505) 224-4000 Ext. 52626.
