Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in ongoing forums that are revolving around a significant recommendation brought forth by the Academic Calendar Committee. The recommendation is to move the college to a semester-based schedule, rather than the current tri-mester schedule.

The semester proposal would keep the fall and spring terms at 16 weeks, but would reduce the summer term from the current 12 weeks to eight weeks, which would better align CNM with UNM, APS and RRPS. CNM President Kathie Winograd and Vice President for Academic Affairs Beth Pitonzo are leading a series of forums that will provide opportunities for faculty, staff and students to provide their input. Vice President for Student Services Phillip Bustos and Vice President for Finance and Operations Kathy Ulibarri will co-host some of the forums. Below are currently scheduled forums:

President Winograd's forums:

  • Dec. 5 from 2-3:30 p.m. on Rio Rancho Campus, Room 101
  • Dec. 8 from 9-10:30 a.m. on Main Campus, Student Resource Center, Richard Barr Board Room

Vice President Pitonzo's forums:

  • Dec. 1 from 3-5 p.m. at the Advanced Technology Center (Vice President Bustos and Vice President Ulibarri will join Vice President Pitonzo)
  • Dec. 2 from 2-4 p.m. at Main Campus in Smith Brasher Hall, Room SB-106 (Vice President Ulibarri will join Vice President Pitonzo)
  • Dec. 7 from 1-3 p.m. at Rio Rancho Campus, Room 101 (Vice President Bustos will join Vice President Pitonzo)
  • Dec. 8 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Main Campus in the Student Resource Center, Room 204 (Vice President Bustos and Vice President Ulibarri will join Vice President Pitonzo)
