Open Enrollment, Switch Enrollment Period for Benefits Now Through Nov. 11

Oct. 13, 2016 -- If you are considering changing or adding health insurance coverages, the Open Enrollment and Switch Enrollment Period for Benefits continues through Nov. 11.

Oct 20, 2016

CNM Human Resources staff have scheduled numerous “Benefits Labs” to answer questions and help with the enrollment process. Click here (and scroll down) to view the schedule.

If you’re considering changes, consider doing the following to prepare:

  • Go online to this website and make sure all of your contact information is correct.
  • Gather necessary documents to add or remove coverage for a spouse, domestic partner or other dependents.

Also, evaluate your current insurance uses and needs.

  • Look at how much you spend on healthcare costs (doctor visits, prescriptions, etc.) and compare program deductibles and out-of-pocket costs.
  • Would a flexible savings account (FSA) give you tax-free dollars to help with out-of-pocket costs?
  • Are your medications preferred or excluded under the plan? Look at co-pay and out-of-pocket amounts.
  • Are your doctors or specialists included in your health plan’s network, or have they changed networks?
  • Could you save money through your plan’s wellness programs?
