The panel discussed the findings of a new report from the Office of the State Auditor that shows the New Mexico information technology industry has the highest percentage of government contracts awarded to out-of-state firms. In a one-year period, $40 million out of $48 million in large state and local government contracts for information technology goods and services went out of state. Panel members discussed ways for New Mexico organizations to put more emphasis on contracting with New Mexico IT businesses to keep more dollars in New Mexico while also supporting IT job growth in New Mexico.

The panel in which Ulibarri participated was moderated by Nyika Allen, president and CEO of the New Mexico Technology Council. Other panelists included Mark Fidel, co-founder and head of Corporate Development of RiskSense; Andrew Baca, president and CEO of Abba Technologies; Raminder Mann, CEO of Advanced Network Management; and Steve Schroeder, president of Real Time Solutions.
