Employees Invited to Support Community Organizations

Aug. 24, 2017 -- All CNM faculty and staff are invited to stop by the Finance & Operations Division’s pre-Convocation activity at the Ted Martinez Building courtyard from 8-9:45 a.m., when employees will have the opportunity to donate items or sign up to volunteer for the following community organizations:

Animal Humane New Mexico – the state’s leading private animal welfare organization serving cats, dogs and their families. Since January 2010, Animal Humane has successfully re-homed 100 percent of the healthy pets in its care. Items Needed: Bleach, liquid detergent, new leashes/collars, plastic/rubber toys.

Haven House – provides services and shelter for victims of domestic violence for Sandoval County. Services offered include case management, legal advocacy, individual counseling and life-skills classes, among other programs. Items Needed: Toiletries, baby supplies, bedding supplies (twin/full), laundry and dish detergent.

New Day Youth & Family Services – opened in 1976 as Albuquerque’s first and only runaway shelter. It works toward the vision that every youth has safe refuge for the present, adult allies for the future, and the basic skills needed to carve a healthy and positive path forward.  Items Needed: Toiletries, socks and new underwear.

Roadrunner Food Bank – the largest, most comprehensive hunger-relief organization in the state. Its network of over 500 partners distributes over 30 million pounds of food to people in need each year, serving 70,000 people each week. Items Needed: Money donations, non-perishable foods (low sodium and/or whole grain).
