NASA & STEM Days at CNM Oct. 4-6

September 21, 2017 -- CNM’s School of Business & Information Technology will host NASA and STEM Days at CNM Oct. 4-6, featuring activities for K-12 educators, college students and high school students. All activities will be held in Smith Brasher Hall on CNM’s Main Campus.

On Wednesday, Oct. 4, there will be a one-day professional development program for K-12 teachers in the Albuquerque area at Smith Brasher Hall on CNM’s Main Campus. Educators will participate in a highly engaging NASA/STEM curricula and hands on-activities. The goal is to provide educators with knowledge and tools to implement engaging lessons in a classroom setting.

To participate, teachers must register by Sept. 30. K-6 educators can click here to register, and 7-12 educators can click here. Participants should bring their own lunches.

Events for College Students

On Oct. 4, 5, and 6, NASA/STEM Days will be open to CNM and Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute students majoring in engineering, life and physical sciences, mathematics, computer science and other related fields. Workshops will be held Oct. 4 at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3 p.m.; and on Oct. 5 at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

There will be a reception for students sponsored by NASA on Oct. 5, and internship interviews with NASA on Oct. 6.

Events for High Schools

NASA/STEM Day events will be open to area high schools on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6 from 9 a.m.-2:15 p.m. High schools are encouraged to register students for this free event. NASA and STEM Days offer hands-on activities to local high school students who are interested in STEM fields. Activities include NASA engineering design challenges, STEM activities, NASA displays and a campus tour. To register your high school students for this event, please go to
