“The goal of the transfer agreements is for students to be able to transfer all of their CNM associate degree courses into a bachelor’s degree program,” said Roberto Vasquez, CNM transfer articulation analyst.

The MOU locks in current tuition rates for the CNM students, waives institutional core requirements and ensures that both schools will make advisement easily available and provide added support for the transfer students.

The CNM students, who become WNMU students, can attend classes at the Silver City campus or enroll in one of the many fully online programs that WNMU offers.

“We are pleased to have this MOU,” Gunthorpe said. “It opens up more doors for CNM students to obtain bachelor’s degrees.”

CNM and WNMU will celebrate the new student transfer partnership on June 10 from 11 a.m.-noon in the Louis E. Saavedra Administration Building, Room 103. WNMU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Jack Crocker and CNM Vice President of Academic Affairs Sydney Gunthorpe will sign the transfer agreement.
