Disabled since birth, he can’t walk and has to use a wheelchair to get around. He’s been competing in Special Olympics competitions since 1997.
“I participate in Special Olympics for fun and to meet people,” he said.
Prior to the spring Special Olympic competitions, he trained every Sunday from 2:30-3:30 p.m., starting March 8.
Singh was born in India in 1975, and as a result of his disabilities, he never could walk. Because he couldn’t walk, he couldn’t go to school in India. His whole family moved to Washington, D.C. when he was four years old to find schooling.
Besides not being able to walk, his disability impaired him from talking. In the U.S. his parents found an “amazing healer” who helped him learn to talk.
Singh has only two courses to go before he obtains his fitness technician certification from CNM.
