The prize, one of four going to innovative organizations in Albuquerque, was announced Thursday evening. It is funded by the Albuquerque Community Foundation and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and was launched last year to support local organizations that help build grass-roots innovation and entrepreneurship.

The FUSE Makerspace provides community members and students with access to high-tech, high-quality equipment that they can use to design, prototype and create manufactured and artistic works. The Makerspace is designed to be a welcoming community center, as well as a resource for stoking the startup spirit, creative exploration and economic growth in central New Mexico.
