CNM Expecting 2,000 High School Students on Campus Feb. 10 for College Day
Jan 11, 2017
It will be the fifth year CNM has hosted College Day, formerly known as Career Technical Education (CTE) Day. The college will put many of its programs on display for students, providing demonstrations and some hands-on activities in fields like nursing, welding, aviation maintenance, fire science, laser technology (photonics) and more. College Day is CNM’s largest recruitment event of the year.
Students will travel to CNM on buses from their home schools. They will explore labs, see equipment in use and get hands-on experiences. Buses will start arriving on Feb. 10 around 8 a.m. and will depart by 2 p.m.
The students are encouraged to bring their lunches or money to buy lunch at food trucks. They should wear warm clothes since some of the events will take place outside. In the event CNM has a delay or is closed due to weather, College Day will be canceled and rescheduled.
Event sponsors include Running Start for Careers and Albuquerque Business Education Compact.
