Culinary Students Work Trade Show, Chef Rick Bayless

October 1, 2014 -- Four CNM culinary students met award winning Chef Rick Bayless, star of the Public Television Series “Mexico – One Plate at a Time,” during the Sept. 24 Shamrock Foods Expo held at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

At the industry tradeshow the students worked the “First to Market” booth, showcasing new food products from Shamrock.

 “This was a great event for our students,” said Victoria Sanchez Martinez, academic affairs director for CNM’s Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management program. “The First to Market booth was the featured station at the show. The students had the opportunity to prepare food  samples for attendees.”

The show featured hundreds of new items and ideas from over 200 vendors, along with educational sessions, new first to market items and more.

Besides his nine-year television show, Bayless is known for winning the title of Bravo’s Top Chef Master. He also has several restaurants in Chicago.

 The CNM students who worked the expo were Marjorie Conwell, Tiffany Archibeque, Sara Green, Mayaneli Brown, Vernon Parjarito and Justin Rabold.
