Guest speaker Natalie Mead from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management instructed the students on the proper way to behave, proper use of place settings and how to be courteous during business meals. The purpose of the lunch was to teach students business etiquette.

“It was a fantastic learning experience for the BIT [Business & Information Technology] students,” said Linda Shul, course instructor. “Natalie covered many topics that students don’t often think about, and she did it in a fun, relaxed environment. The meal and service provided by the culinary students was superb.”

The course Shul teaches focuses on developing interpersonal and professional skills appropriate for the business environment. Topics covered in the class include goal setting, attitude/perception, life management, diversity at work, business ethics, business communication skills, motivation, teamwork, leadership skills in the workplace, business etiquette and more.
