Cisco Phone Info

Cisco Unified Communications is the current communications service for Faculty and Staff, provided by ITS. 

Cisco Jabber

Cisco Jabber provides the ability for users to be more mobile. Providing access to Instant Messaging, Voice Calls, Video Calls, and more. Available on Desktops, Laptops, Android, and iOS Devices.

Note: Jabber accounts will need to be requested through the ITS Service Desk.

Using Your Phone

  • Dial 9 to make an external call.
  • If you need to call a CNM phone number, you only need to dial the last five digits of the phone number when using a CNM phone. For example, to call 224-4357 (the ITS Service Desk), dial 44357 from any CNM phone.
  • Set a personal directory PIN at (Accessible only on-campus).
  • To help ensure public safety, phones are assigned to physical locations (rooms, offices, cubicles, etc.), rather than individual users. If you are moving and need to have your extension programmed on another phone, please submit a service request to the ITS Service Desk for assistance with your move.
  • If needed, a wireless headset for your phone can be purchased by your department. Please submit a service request to the ITS Service Desk for assistance with your purchase. 


Voicemail messages can be retrieved by any of the following methods:

  • Pressing the Messages button on your phone.
  • Calling the voicemail system directly.
  • Accessing through Cisco Jabber.
  • Accessing through
  • Accessing through your email account.

Resetting Your Voicemail PIN

  • Your voicemail PIN can be reset from within the Settings menu at (accessible from on-campus). 

Change Your Voicemail Greeting

  • Access the Voicemail system by pressing the Messages button on your phone. Follow the voice prompts to make changes to your greeting.
