Everybody Present: Mindfulness in the Classroom

Kristin L. Roush, Ph.D., CHSS

Isleta, 2:00-3:15

Mindfulness in the classroom increases attention and improves academic performance. Faculty can “teach” mindfulness by modeling it through their own behavior during class and by integrating occasional short exercises. They can also demonstrate specific techniques for students to use in the classroom and while studying. This interactive session will offer and demonstrate several concrete examples of mindfulness in the classroom and invite suggestions from participants.
