Session C8

8th Annual CNM Conference on Teaching and Learning

Using Twine to Create Interactive Stories and Study Guides

Jeremy E. Baker (UNM/Valencia/Social Sciences)

Salon D, 2:50-4:00

This presentation is intended for educators who teach college or high school. By the end of this presentation, attendees will know about Twine and be able to use it to create specialized computer programs for their courses. Attendees experiences may be enhanced by online examples if they their own devices to this presentation, but they are not required.

Twine is an open source program that allows users to create Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-style stories, interactive study guides, and other text based interactive exercises. The program is easy to learn and programs created with Twine can be deployed on a variety of devices (thus, maximizing accessibility.) I will explain Twine and give two detailed examples that can be used as templates which can be applied to a variety of situations.
