Session B8

8th Annual CNM Conference on Teaching and Learning

Better Results, Faster: How to Use Spaced-Repetition Software Anki to Revolutionize Your Teaching and 10X Your Students’ Results

Daniel Letz, MFA (CNM/School of Adult & General Ed)

Salon D , 1:20-2:30

Content: Focused on demonstrating the use and implications of the free, open-source software Anki for spaced-repetition practice in the classroom and beyond.
Format: The session will be structured as a lecture, interspersed with hands-on application of the Anki platform itself. Attendees will participate and try out the software during the last half of the presentation.
Audience: Anki’s platform is content-agnostic (it supports images, text, audio, video, etc.) and can be used for any discipline at CNM. Faculty members from all schools and disciplines will benefit from the use of Anki in the classroom.
Outcomes: Instructors should plan to leave the conference with an understanding of how to operate Anki as a student, as well as an understanding of how to create their own cards and integrate Anki into their curriculum.

Mobile device (laptop, tablet, or smart phone) highly encouraged.
