An Introduction to Training from the Back of the Room

Sharon Bowman’s “Training from the Back of the Room” is an evidence-based method supporting teaching and learning. The 4 C’s are: 

C1) Connections: Learners connect what they already know with what they want to know. 

C2) Concepts: Learners take in information in multisensory ways. 

C3) Concrete Practice: Learners practice a skill or repeat a procedure. 

C4) Conclusions: Learners summarize what they have learned, evaluate it, make action plans and celebrate learning.
