What if I'm unable to work? Is there Public Health Leave?

Yes. Visit our COVID-19 Information Hub, under the Public Health Leave and Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) section.

If I am required to work from home, what resources will CNM provide for me?

We recommend working with your department supervisor to see what resources are available. Depending on your department and work assignments, your supervisor may be able to provide technology and other resources on a case-by-case basis.

How do I prepare to work from home?

If you have a CNM-owned laptop or tablet, you are authorized to take it home and use it as your primary work device. If using a personal device at home, your device must meet security guidelines. You should speak with your supervisor about what technology, equipment or other resources you may need.

For each employee who can perform job duties from a remote location, a completed Remote Work Plan and Agreement Form will be required. Expect to receive the form via email from your supervisor.

If I have to increase my internet speed, will CNM pay for it? Will I be paid for my cell phone usage?

No, CNM will not pay for increases to personal internet speed. If you believe your home internet connection will not support your normal job functions, talk to your supervisor about alternative work tasks you may be able to complete during a work-from-home period.

Similarly, CNM will not pay for additional cell phone usage. Contact your supervisor for alternative communication options.

What factors determine the actions that CNM will take?

CNM is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in New Mexico, with the primary goal of ensuring the safety and health of our staff, faculty and students. Any action taken by the College will be based on the health risks presented by COVID-19, and how deeply they impact or could potentially impact the CNM community.

What Benefits resources are available to me during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Benefits has created a SharePoint page discussing resources available to staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This includes information about the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), providing staff with access to ComPsych guidance resources.
