Facebook and CNM announced a groundbreaking partnership during the opening day of Facebook’s Community Boost tour in Albuquerque on April 30 as part of National Small Business Week. Through the partnership, Facebook is working with CNM to develop a new Digital Marketing Certificate program that will launch in the Fall Term and help skill up a digital workforce. Facebook is also teaming with CNM to offer 32 scholarships for students to attend CNM Ingenuity’s popular Deep Dive Coding Bootcamps. Curriculum for the new Digital Marketing Certificate program is in development, but it will include social media strategy and digital marketing skills that are so important in today’s workforce and economy.

Twenty-one CNM Students Qualify for National SkillsUSA Championships

During the New Mexico SkillsUSA Championships in April that drew more than 600 students, CNM students won 21 gold medals, five silver medals and six bronze medals. The students put their skills to the test in more than 65 career technical education categories, such as automotive repair, carpentry, culinary arts and welding to name a few. The gold medalists advance to the National SkillsUSA Championships in late June in Louisville, Ky. More than 16,000 people, including students, teachers and industry partners, are expected to participate in the week-long event. SkillsUSA events allow industry representatives to evaluate student performance and help keep training relevant to employers’ needs. Students also get valuable networking opportunities with employers.
