CNM Ingenuity Hosting Conference on Future of Blockchain Technology

On Oct. 13 from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., CNM Ingenuity will host a “BlockFiesta” conference on CNM’s Main Campus in Smith Brasher Hall. CNM Student Wins Prestigious Department of Defense Scholarship

Lloyd Waggoner, 27, was taking refresher math courses just a couple years ago at CNM after passing on college for a number of years after high school. Now, he’s about to earn his associate degree in Engineering, he’s working on his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of New Mexico, and he was just awarded a coveted U.S. Department of Defense scholarship. The scholarship pays all of his UNM tuition until he graduates, provides a significant annual living stipend, gets him an internship at White Sands Missile Range next summer, and guarantees him a DOD job after graduation. The scholarship is called the Science, Mathematics, And Research for Transformation (SMART) scholarship and it draws applicants from across the country.

You’re Invited to Grand Opening of Richard R. Barr Hall on Montoya Campus Aug. 14

CNM will celebrate the opening of the new Richard R. Barr Hall at CNM’s Montoya Campus on Aug. 14 from 3:30–5 p.m. Mr. Barr served on the CNM Governing Board from 1997–2009, including six years as Chairman. The renovated, 44,700-square-foot building now houses a dental assistant lab, cosmetology lab, two chemistry labs, a computer classroom, four general-use classrooms, faculty offices, library, tutoring, a computer lab and a conference room. The outdoor plaza will also create a more welcoming gathering space and better pedestrian flow between buildings. The renovation is designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification. To RSVP for the grand opening, email Events.
